Satchel Construction is pleased to be working with the College of Charleston on the renovation of their dormitory at 90 Wentworth St. in Harleston Village. The house was built in an Italianate style along with the one next door and three on St. Philip Street in 1859 by John Riggs. Riggs is perhaps best remembered as the founder of Charleston's first street car system, established in 1866. 90 Wentworth remains largely unchanged with its brick quoins, arched window in the gable end, and double-tiered piazza with a recessed piazza door screen containing carved decoration. #renovationhashtag#collegeofcharlestonhashtag#italianatehashtag#architecturehashtag#constructionhashtag#historicpreservation
